An Interview with Vladlen Manshin of ICO

Q: Hi Vladlen, Tell us about yourself
Hi. I’m founder and CEO of, a platform for selling digital products and services, based on smart-contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. I’m charmed by programming and modern technologies from my school years. Later in University I studied it as a main specialty and took part in different contests including international ones. Right after my graduation in 2009 we formed a team with my university group mates and since then we are working together.

Q: Tell us more about your team! Do they all have background of crypto?
It’s hard to have a background in Solidity and smart-contracts programming as it all was born about 1 year ago. Anyway, we are a cohesive team with 9 years’ experience of collaborative development. Team members have a solid track of analyzing large volumes of data, proven experience in long-term project management and project scaling, creating high load failover systems, complex systems formalization and algorithm development.

Q: How did the idea of come about? Is this something you were doing before?
The idea of the project came when we were brainstorming how blockchain technologies can solve problems of P2P trading and service providing. Current payment systems involve too many intermediaries and impose many restrictions, especially when it comes to international payments. So we thought that Ethereum with it’s smart-contracts perfectly suits for direct seller – buyer interaction. That’s how the idea of was born.

Q: What inspired you to do an ICO?
Why we decided to go for TGE (token generating event)? Today it’s the best way to attract contributors and it perfectly suits the spirit of blockchain philosophy.

Q: What is the cap for your ICO and how did you come to chose that number? What do you think of unlimited ICO’s? How much money is too much money to be raised in an ICO?
Currently, we are aiming to conduct PreTGE (token generating event) first. We have restricted the maximum number of contributors to 100 people. At this stage, our task is to provide an individual approach and maximum security within the available resources. We believe that working with each investor individually, we will be able to conduct the PreTGE campaign as efficiently as possible. Our hard cap for the main campaign is 60 000 ETH. We think that it’s what we need to release a finished product backed by good marketing, legal organization and community management. As for unlimited ICOs and too high ICO caps, I think each case is different and should be approached individually.

Q: If you successfully crowd sell with your ICO, where will your company be based?
We already have the company which is based in Singapore. No matter how well the TGE campaign will go, we will be working on the platform until we can deliver working product. We already conducting AIRDROP (promo tokens giveaway) on our platform.

Q: To what level of scrutiny do you feel ICO’s should be held to?
I think moderate regulation rules will benefit the industry as a whole. As you may know, SEC is already doing good job by banning scam ICOs. According to this point of view we already have all legal documentation in place so every contributor and user of can be sure that legal risks are as minimized as possible.

Q: Do you have a background in conducting due diligence on crowdfunded projects?
To be sure that our campaign is organized the best way possible we are going to collaborate with one of the industry leaders, experienced in due diligenceon several very successful ICOs.

Q: In addition to cybersecurity, what do you feel must be understood when performing due diligence on cryptoprojects?
To make it short, there should be proof of team, proof of concept and proof of legality.

Q: What is your “bird’s eye view” of the blockchain industry as a whole. From what you’ve seen, what aspects of token crowdsales could be improved?
Currently blockchain industry is very “hot”, too many projects are coming with nothing but whitepaper and some of them get their funding because there are too many free money. I think this should be improved with time as investors will realize that not every ICO is a real project backed by a real team.

Q: You’re clearly very passionate about the crypto space! Which projects are the most exciting to you?
Currently, the most exciting projects for me are project focused on mass adoption for solving real problems. Crypto needs to get more momentum to coming into people lives.

Q: What current proof of concepts has completed? What projects are in the pipeline?
For now, we are going to held PreTGE (token generating event). We already are conduction promo tokens AIRDROP which is based on our platform.

Q: What’s in the future for BCShop?
After finishing PreTGE phase we will be releasing alfa version of the platform which will have enough functionality for people to start selling / buying their digital good and services. After that we will move to TGE phase and continue to gradually improve the platform.

Q: Have you talked with any exchanges about their interested in enabling trading of your tokens?
We will send listing applications to all of the recognized stock exchanges. Independently from tokens listing on stock exchange, liquidity problem is solved by implementing smart tokens according to Bancor protocol. Tokens will be available for exchange within the first few days after TGE completion.
